Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network is a state-wide Specialty Health Network delivering health care to adults and young people in contact with the forensic mental health and criminal justice systems across community, inpatient and custodial settings. The Drug & Alcohol (D&A) Registered Nurse's role is to provide a high standard of clinical care to the patients of the correctional health centre, with identified Drug and Alcohol health concerns. This includes facilitation and liaison with external LHD service providers, Corrective Services NSW, relevant health & welfare services and any other relevant service providers to ensure continuum of care, whilst in correctional facilities or post release.

  • Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia and a current NSW Drivers Licence.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and clinical experience in the assessment and management of Drug and Alcohol health concerns of patients.
  • Proven capacity to manage and relate to patients in a non judgemental compassionate & professional manner.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills including computer application skills in the software programs used by NSW Health.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage workloads within agreed timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong professional relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated evidence of an ongoing commitment to self-learning and professional development.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of the Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network.
