Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a dynamic Genetics Counsellor to join our Cancer Services team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital!

Do you have an undergraduate degree in a non-nursing, non-medical discipline and in addition hold a post graduate qualification in genetic counselling or have attained Part I certification in genetics counselling from the Human Genetics Society of Australasia?

Do you have a demonstrated ability to provide Genetic Counselling with minimal direct supervision?

The Cancer Genetics Counsellor will work as part of Cancer Services in partnership with the Department of Cancer Genetics to provide genetics diagnosis, testing and counselling services with patients and/or family members of SLHD Cancer Services.

In particular, the purpose of this position is to provide support to individuals and families to minimise the impact of a Cancer genetic diagnosis. The position will be required to maintain client records, and relevant activity and reporting data.
