Fixed Term contract opportunity in Perth CBD.

Your new company
We are currently supporting an essential Government department responsible for the support to individuals, families and community wellbeing. Delivering client centred services this department has an established team of values based individuals across a variety of clinical disciplines.

Your new role
As a Senior Child Protection Worker you will work across several support services to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children. Your role will be to utilise your expertise in providing support to children and families to ensure they are in a safe environment. Key responsibilities:

  • Respond to concerns regarding the safety and wellbeing of children
  • Complete complex case work
  • Provide expertise to staff on child safety issues
  • Develop community and family capacity to provide a safe environment for vulnerable people
  • Investigate serious concerns regarding welfare of children and respond appropriately
  • Conduct and lead assessments on behalf of the department
  • Undertake field work when required

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you will be a tertiary qualified health professional with experience in supporting children and families. Key requirements include:

  • Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology of relevant human service area
  • Ability to obtain registration with a relevant professional body i.e. AASW or AHPRA
  • WWCC
  • National police clearance
  • Driver's Licence
  • Proven experience supporting vulnerable families and children
  • Demonstrated expertise within counselling and therapeutic intervention
  • Proven ability to work within a team environment
