Patient Service Assistant


Part-time / Casual



Western Health is seeking the services of suitably qualified and experienced Patient Service Assistants to join our team based at Sunshine Hospital.


We have various part-time rosters available for both morning and afternoon shifts including weekends.


Casual opportunities are also available and will be required to work across all sites and shifts.


We are seeking individuals that are focused on providing the best possible care for our patients and who are dedicated to ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene, particularly in patient areas.


Previous experience working in a busy hospital environment and competent in the use of electric bed moving devices will be highly regarded.


Successful applicants will need to be able to demonstrate their ability to think laterally and have proven reliability/flexibility skills with the ability to work within a diverse workforce. The PSA is an integral member of the hospital team, contributing to OH&S, patient flow and daily functionality of the hospital setting.


Applicants must hold a Cert III in Health Service Assistance and applications are to include a cover letter and resume outlining your experience.


Essential Skills / Experience



  • HLT33115 - Certificate III in Health Services Assistance

  • Experience, knowledge and understanding of the delivery of PSA, Cleaning services and Patient transport processes within the health care environment.

  • Demonstrated communication and negotiation skills in a multicultural environment.

  • Customer focussed and able to develop effective relationships with all stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work within a team or sole.

  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities.

  • A commitment to providing a safe work environment.

  • Acceptable level of Language, literacy and numerary skills.
