Freedom Prosthetics provides industry leading services in the areas of Prosthetics and Orthotics. An exciting opportunity exists for a talented, motivated, AOPA-registered Prosthetist to join our team. The successful applicant will work effectively, efficiently and independently within our small team and with rehab partners in the local community.

They will work well with clients of all ages and functional levels and will be motivated to develop unique and high-quality services. Training will be provided in the use of industry leading Willow Wood CADCAM technologies for delivery of custom devices and the implementation of advanced Prosthetic and Orthotic technologies. Practicing clinicians are encouraged to apply, with the preference towards Prosthetic and Orthotic experience.

  • Implementation of progressive clinical treatments across a range of prosthetic and orthotic presentations and client groups.
  • Provision of evidence based treatments from our Cairns based clinic.
  • Preparation of reports to funding providers including insurers and the NDIS
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration with other health professionals
  • Professional approach: commitment to providing exceptional quality services to clients across all disciplines.
  • Evidence based practice: drive and passion to provide evidence based best practice.
  • Communication: the ability to provide clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Confidence: the capacity to interact confidently with referrers and other professions to facilitate service growth.

  • Minimum degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics (recognised by the Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association)
  • Current registration with the Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Eligible to work permanently in Australia
  • Experience in both prosthetic and orthotic clinical service provision
  • Excellent skills and understanding with the undertaking of traditional model techniques.
  • Strong computer skills and the capacity to translate physical modification techniques into digital on-screen methods
  • Experience with fabrication methods using thermoplastic and composite materials
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary environment

REMUNERATIONBased on experience, an attractive and competitive salary package is offered to the successful candidate. A bonus incentive scheme for negotiation after probation.
