About The Roles

Options exist for you to work full time, part time or casual employment within the Scrub Scout team or Anaesthetics/PACU team with Epworth Freemasons in East Melbourne. Let us know in your application the area your applying for and in what capacity.

Our Perioperative Services department operates in a VMO model across 12 theatres that are co-located with Day of Surgery Admissions centre and a Short Stay Unit and be supported by a 24-hour ICU. You will work across differing surgical procedures including adults, paediatrics, general surgical, gynaecology, urology, ENT, maxillofacial, orthopaedics, endoscopy, plastics and maternity services.

Scrub Scout

  • Provide a high level of nursing care to your patient during their theatre journey
  • Assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate the care delivery needs of patients
  • Monitor the condition of patients during procedures and reporting changes

Anaesthetics / PACU

  • Plan, review and implement patient anaesthetics and recovery care
  • Recognise and respond to changing needs of the patient
  • Apply a safety-first mindset that sees a positive patient experience outcome

For you to be successful in this role…
You may be an EEN or RN looking to work with a team of patient-first nurses. You are a good communicator, flexible in your approach and have natural ability to show compassion and empathy to patients. Solutions-focused with the patient at the heart of all your decisions, you enjoy collaborating with a team of like-minded social theatre nurses.

You will have:

  • Relevant experience in Scrub Scout, Anaesthetics or PACU
  • urrent unrestricted AHPRA Nursing registration
  • Acute tertiary experience
  • Ability to work a Monday – Friday rotating roster (mix of AM and PM shifts)
