About The Opportunity
The Liverpool Brain Injury Unit (BIRU) strives to provide high quality rehabilitation services and outcomes to clients. The Liverpool BIRU consists of a highly experienced multidisciplinary team

(MDT) that works collaboratively to meet the complex needs of the clients. The Level 3 Driver Trained Occupational Therapist (OT) will have the opportunity to develop and consolidate a broad range of DTOT skills within a supportive environment, and to contribute to service delivery within the broader BIRU team. What you'll be doing

The Senior Occupational Therapist provides clinical governance, leadership and expertise within Occupational Therapy services including the provision of safe, timely, compassionate and high quality person-centered care. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing driving assessment services to clients of the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit. The driving assessment and rehabilitation program involves conducting off-road and on-road components of testing for driving, in conjunction with Driving Instructors, including recommendations for remediation. The Occupational Therapist is also responsible for undertaking administrative tasks necessary to support service delivery including case load and data management, professional development activities and team projects and planning.

How to Apply

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Demonstrated clinical skills and experience in the provision of Occupational Therapy Driving assessment and remediation services OR eligibility to complete Driving assessment training course.
  2. Demonstrated experience in the identification of evidence based practice and/or development of treatment protocols.
  3. Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.
  4. Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills.
  5. Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring of staff and/or students.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in a range of programs.
  7. Experience or interest in working within Brain Injury Rehabilitation.
  8. Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
