Vitality Works provide a full spectrum of workplace health solutions with a focus on whole person health to a variety of clients across many industries. Part of our offering is the successful delivery of vaccination programs.

We have been engaged by Aspen Medical to assist with the rollout of the COVID-19 Vaccination program and as a result, we are now looking for Authorised Immunisers who are interested in assisting with the rollout of the vaccine during 2021. You will play a key role in within the vaccination team.

Our Authorised Immunisers will staff hubs in Hobart, Launceston and the North West. We also have travelling teams for those who are keen to travel. We are looking for passionate health professionals dedicated to delivering high quality immunisation services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administration of vaccines, in accordance with relevant standards and guidelines
  • Communicating with patients and providing them with the necessary information, support and reassurance they require
  • Practicing health and safety procedures
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) and other record keeping platforms

Successful applicants will possess the following:

  • Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Authorised Immuniser status in Tasmania
  • Current CPR or BLS qualifications
  • Anaphylaxis training certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Evidence of completed Australian Department of Health COVID-19 vaccination modules (or willingness to undertake training)
  • Current drivers licence and vehicle (not essential for all roles)
  • Current police check (within the last 12 months)
  • Current flu vaccination

You will also need to have:

  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to deal with medical emergencies
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Polite/friendly nature
  • Attention to detail
  • Minimum of three-years full-time relevant clinical experience including immunisation work

Preferable Criteria

  • Previous workplace vaccination experience

You will be asked to verify the following:

  • Your AHPRA Registration
  • Your Immunisation Qualification (or if you are currently completing an immunisation course, please advise of your expected completion date)
  • Current unrestricted drivers licence
  • Current police check (within last 12 months)
  • Current flu vaccination
