Provide clinical leadership and management of the sub-specialist unit of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre, in collaboration with the Thoracic Program Medical Director, Heart Lung Nursing Directors and Business Manager.

About The Role

  • The Clinical Director will be recognised as having a broad knowledge base in the field of Cystic Fibrosis.
  • Operational Responsibilities: Ensuring the efficient running of the Centre including undertaking strategic planning at the local level in collaboration with the Cystic Fibrosis team, and financial and budgetary management.
  • Producing appropriate clinical activity, outcome data and quality activities.
  • Support a multidisciplinary team involved with reviewing clinical activities in this field.
  • Coordinate development of key areas within the discipline providing out of hours cover for the special requirements of the area
  • Coordinating the production of all necessary guidelines, protocols, procedures or pathways for inpatients and outpatients
  • Provide guidance and leadership on the Strategic Direction and Vision of the Centre to the Program and to the Hospital, Health Service and Queensland Health as required.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the CF Centre Outreach program that delivers visiting clinics to Regional Queensland including Cairns and Townsville.
  • Establish, foster and coordinate an active multi-disciplinary research culture including as many of the Centre's team members as possible.
  • Maintain expert level of knowledge of current research and clinical services developments in Cystic Fibrosis.
  • Attend relevant conferences and advise the Program and Hospital and Health Service of new directions and developments in the area.
