Graduate Nurse Program
Fixed Term 12 month position 

The Royal Women’s Hospital is Australia’s first and largest specialist hospital dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of newborns and women of all ages. To join the Women’s is to be instrumental in forging progress towards health equity for women from ground-breaking research through to the bedside delivery of multi-disciplinary clinical care.

Your contribution

The Women's Graduate Nurse program provides Graduate Registered Nurses with endless opportunities to learn and consolidate their skills in a range of areas including:

  • Gynaecology and Women's Cancer Services: 5 North (32 hours per week)
  • Neonates including Special Care Nursery and High Dependency Unit (32 hours per week)
  • Perioperative Suites, including Theatre, Anaesthetics, Post Anaesthetic Car Units and the Day Surgery Unit (36 hours per week)

Placements in our graduate program are for 12 months in one area, or you can complete a combination of 6 months in one area and 6 months in another.

We offer an intake into our Graduate Program in February and May and applications are now open for both intakes of the 2021 program.

You must be eligible for Computer Match to apply, and your application must included in your online application.

  • A cover letter addressed to Kate O'Donnell (one page)
  • A CV including a clear scanned photo of yourself
  • A certified copy of your transcript of results or interim results
  • 2 x most recent clinical appraisals (one must be in the acute setting)
  • A completed Placement Options Preference Form (found on the Women's website)
