Where you will be working

Located on the banks of the Lachlan River, Hillston MPS is a rural and remote health facility proud to host a friendly, motivated and engaged team.

As a 19 bed facility we have a lone VMO/GP and are supported by the Rural Remote Medical Service and Tele-Health. We have an Allied Health team consisting of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Allied Health Assistants and a Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator along with a Community Health Nurse and Community Midwife.

Staff accommodation can be available, with shared common areas, each room has their own bathroom, reverse cycle air-conditioning and TV.

About the Opportunity

  • Community nursing care involves clinical care (chronic disease management including wound and catheter care), palliative care, carer support, illness prevention and health promotion activities. 
  • To provide comprehensive, coordinated and integrated community nursing services to individuals and their families, who have chronic conditions, or who have recently been discharged from hospital and/or who have continuing support needs and are within the designated geographical area of the network.
  • As a regulated health professional the Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) to meet and the NMBA approved standards, codes, guidelines and frameworks. The standards for practice should be evident in current practice, and inform the scope of practice for the area of employment ties.
