The Role
In this part-time or full-time Advanced Trainee or CMO Night Shift role, you will join a supportive environment within a 35-bed state of the art ED. Epworth Richmond Emergency Department is Victoria’s busiest private sector Emergency Department, with over 30,000 presentations per year, over 40% admission rate and access to our 24/7 cardiac catheterisation lab, theatres, stroke unit, CT, MRI and intensive care facilities. We are the preferred referral centre for major sporting bodies, major corporations, events and VIP visitors to Victoria. 6-month rotations available. Night shifts available from 22.00 to 8.00am or 24.00 to 8.00am 7 days per week.

A VMO on-call roster exists to cover all major specialties. The ED roster is well staffed and accredited by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine for 12 months advanced training. Our staffing is a balanced mix of FACEMs, experienced Career Medical Officers and Advanced Trainees in Emergency Medicine. Medical students are on rotation from both Monash and Melbourne Universities.

The ED has an in-house CT scanner and general radiology room, two portable ultrasound machines, two fully equipped resuscitation rooms with video assisted laryngoscopes, dedicated paediatric area and two negative pressure rooms.

You will make an impact by:

To be successful in this role…
You will build on your sound clinical skills, be responsible for your own patient case-load, receiving timely diagnostic information and communicating directly with expert specialists within the hospital. Regular Night shifts are an expectation for the position.

You will have:

  • General Registration with AHPRA
  • Advanced Trainee with Australasian College for Emergency Medicine, preferably with intensive care and anaesthetic experience
  • CMO- 5 year’s plus experience working in a public or private emergency department and recent or current position working in an emergency department

  • Annual salary range for full time Advanced Trainee –$245,419 to $310,864 + super + entitlements depending on year level (prorated for part-time) + evening/weekend/night penalties.

  • Access to salary packaging of up to $9,010 p.a.
