JOB DESCRIPTION

Clinical Support Nurse - Grade 3B. Medical-Surgical Program. x 1 Fixed Term part-time and x 4 Ongoing part-time positions available.


We have opportunities to join the Nursing and Midwifery Education team as a Clinical Support Nurse. These leadership positions develop and facilitate education, training and support to all nursing staff.



  • Clinical education focus – graduate and general nursing staff support

  • Temporary and permanent positions available

  • Temporary role until 6 Feb 2022, based on program requirements

  • Rotating shifts AM/PM, 7 days /week.

About the Roles


An exciting opportunity exists for nurses with experience in medical/surgical nursing, to join the NaMES team as a Clinical Support Nurse (CSN). We require highly skilled clinicians with a passion for education who will be responsible for providing clinical and educational support to nursing staff across Monash Health with a particular focus on our novice workforce.


Some of the specific accountabilities will include:



  • Provision of contemporary education that promotes best practice standards

  • Clinical bedside support to nurses

  • Demonstrating and promoting best practice standards

  • The ability to create learning opportunities for staff through empowering education

  • Helping to ensure that through a highly skilled and educated workforce our patients receive safe and high-quality care

  • Effective communication and escalation

  • Working collaboratively with the leadership team including the multi-disciplinary team


About You:



  • Current registration with NMBA

  • Recent relevant clinical experience in nursing

  • Excellent communication skills


In addition, the following will be highly regarded:



  • Completion of, or working towards postgraduate qualifications/or

  • Certificate IV workplace training and assessment

  • A sound understanding of clinical supervision, clinical assessment and advanced clinical practice
