JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a 1 year fellowship with a strong focus on developing skills in robotic urologic surgery. The fellow will have a unique opportunity to participate in basic and complex robotic pelvic (prostatectomy, cystectomy with urinary diversion), renal (partial nephrectomy, radical nephrectomy) and reconstructive surgery (pyeloplasty, ureteric reconstruction). The RBWH Urology department performs 120 robotic procedures per year on average.

About The Role

  • Interview and examine patients to identify clinical problems.
  • Selecting a range of appropriate investigations
  • Assemble clinical information and the results of investigation available from sources.
  • Diagnose clinical conditions
  • Plan overall clinical care through a comprehensive management plan.
  • Initiate and maintain continuous critical care.
  • Undertake clinical responsibilities including on call by providing patient care, liaison with other doctors and hospitals for referrals, and maintaining appropriate records and confidentiality, including obtaining and documenting consent.
  • Help patients share the responsibility of their management and care.
  • Work and supervise junior staff within the scope of the role
