JOB DESCRIPTION

Chandler Macleod is assisting our Federal Government client to source an experienced mental health professional to join the team as an EL1 Assistant Director - Practice & Quality due to rapid growth within the organisation and the team.

The Practice and Quality Assistant Director will work closely with the National Director and the operation team, and other key National Operations' teams to design, deliver, implement and evaluate projects for Client Assist, that support and develop the practice of the Client Assist team. The successful applicant is required to provide professional leadership, build capability and act as a resource to the National Operations and Client Assist teams, working in an agile manner.

The successful applicant will be expected to lead and deliver several critical projects that embed the organisations continuous quality improvement processes in Client Assist, and assure the quality of Client Assist's services, in a 24/7 contact centre environment. The successful applicant will therefore also work closely with the other Clinical Assistant Directors to ensure the expansion projects are all aligned and promote best practice in mental health service delivery. This position will be responsible for the supervision, mentoring, and coaching of staff.

The successful applicant must have:

  • A comprehensive understanding and extensive experience in working within a mental health clinical practice framework,
  • Extensive knowledge and clinical support functions and processes that support the clinical service delivery, including a working knowledge with clinical audit and quality improvement processes in a mental health environment.
  • A working knowledge of the National Standards for Mental Health Services.
  • Qualifications, in mental health nursing, psychology, or social sciences, and demonstrated experience in a clinical management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in service redesign, change management, or project management in a clinical setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and experience, including highly effective communication and the ability to develop relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to target audience(s), using approaches that capture audience interest.
  • A registered health professional with AHPRA or AASW

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Qualifications in a Business Administration or Project Management would be well regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience in instituting quality improvement methods, activities and/or processes, such as clinical audits.
  • The applicant will be passionate about providing quality mental health services to the veteran and defence communities. As this is a strategic leadership position, the successful applicant will need to bring a passion for creative solutions, and the ability to engage and motivate others toward best practice in clinical service delivery.
