About the Opportunity

The occupant of the position is responsible for the provision of excellent Nutrition and Dietetics services to inpatients including Acute, Sub-Acute and Older persons within the Mental Health services. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing nutritional guidance, support and education to relevant Mental Health staff, consumers, families and carers.
  • Assessing nutritional status and developing diet plans.
  • Provision of evidence-based clinical nutritional care of clients with mental health conditions.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team with regards the management of clients with complex mental health conditions and their comorbid physical health care needs.
  • Monitoring, reviewing and developing relevant clinical nutrition policies and protocols.
  • Planning, implementing and evaluating mental health Dietetic services.
  • Assisting in coordinating student placements and supervision.
  • Provide nutrition education, consultation and support to colleagues.
  • The implementation and review of the Nutrition Standards for Consumers of Inpatient Mental Health Services in NSW.
