Full Job Description
The Location:
Located on a pristine coast line this city has a population of 20,000 residents and well developed infrastructure with a vibrant shopping district that spills onto the beach for seafood and coffee. The local countryside is renowned for its produce. You can buy award winning cheese at the factory outlet and taste whisky at the cellar door. There are restaurants to linger in and well stocked deli's to tempt you with gourmet treats.

The Facility:
As part of the state wide health service you will be located in this modern 160 bed facility providing high quality health care to the local region. The hospital also offers services in medical, surgical and allied health specialties through inpatient and outpatient departments. The hospital has a strong relationship with the University of Tasmania's Rural Clinical School, and the secondary care facilities are both associated teaching hospitals with contemporary teaching environments.

The Role:
You will provide diagnosis, treatment and care for public patients servicing a population of approximately 116,000. The unit is supported by a Level 4 Neonatal Unit and an 8 bed Level 4 Intensive Care Unit.

Approximately 1000 births annually and staffing includes experienced midwives.

You will be working in a team comprising of five full-time Staff Specialists and 1 part-time VMO. The hospital is RANZCOG accredited for core trainees. The on-call is 1 in 5. You will be involved with rostering, departmental policy and protocols, education and general organisation of the RANZCOG trainees and JMO’s supporting the unit.

Your Profile:
You will have excellent exposure to a range of gynaecological surgeries such as pelvic floor, caesarean, hysterectomy and laparoscopic work with four to five operating lists presenting per week. You should be serious about education and able to share your clinical expertise with medical staff and students and foster a learning environment.

Requirements:
To apply for this position it is essential you already hold registration with AHPRA
10 year’s post graduate experience
