This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time appointments. Fixed Term appointments will be made with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Position Profile: Sir Charles Gairdner Osborne Park Health Care Group (SCGOPHCG) is seeking suitable applications for Senior Medical Imaging Technologists to join the Radiology team at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH).

Positions involve working in a Computed Tomography (CT) environment. Other positions involve working within Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) or Interventional Radiology environments, depending on skills and ability of the successful applicants.

The main overview of this role is to perform specialist diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with the Radiation Safety Act, Departmental and Hospital policies and other appropriate legislation and interpret requests for interventional procedures.

Your main duties will be to ensure image quality and scope of examination is sufficient to provide diagnostic information for clinical requirements as you will be responsible for patient welfare, privacy and security. To be successful for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge, advanced skills and experience in a range of radiographic modalities along with providing an effective ability to communicate with patients and staff.

For MRI specific roles applicant to have significant experience with a range of examinations and demonstrated understanding of MRI safety practices. Attainment or working towards level 1 MRI ASMIRT accreditation is preferred.

Being a Senior Medical Imaging Technologist, you will show an ability to supervise the activities of professional staff, liaise with medical and other staff and participate in the supervision and assessment of students undertaking clinical practice training.

Area Profile: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) is one of Australia's leading teaching tertiary hospitals. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre 4km from Perth city centre, SCGH provides a comprehensive range of clinical services including trauma, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery, and cardiac care. It is home to WA's only comprehensive cancer centre - the largest cancer treatment centre in the State - and is the State's principal hospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants.
