JOB DESCRIPTION

Chandler Macleod are proud to work with this Government agency currently seeking an experienced Community Engagement Coordinator to join their office at the APS6 level.

Working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders, you will enhance the Departments' ability to identify and respond to the needs of vulnerable and at risk clients. Taking a strength-based, recovery approach, you will optimise a client's wellbeing through community engagement, collaborative recovery work and complex case management.

Your responsibilities;

  • Coordinating the activities of the team, including line management, operational supervision, provision of information, debriefing and support
  • Using a community engagement framework, work with other senior staff to develop and deliver strategic initiatives that contribute to enhanced access to support services
  • Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinating participation of the team in evaluation activities and monitor progress of the team
  • Providing feedback on policies and procedures, particularly in relation to community engagement and development activities
  • Undertaking direct provision of evidence informed clinical services, including intake, complex case management, case coordination, and facilitation of group programs
  • Identifying and appropriately deploying staff both in the delivery of community engagement and peer support activities

To be successful in this position, you will possess;

  • Qualifications of a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, accredited Mental Health Social Worker, or Registered Nurse with mental health qualifications
  • Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Nurses must be registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA) and accredited Mental Health Social Workers must be registered with Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Working with Children and/or Vulnerable People Checks/Clearance obtained prior to commencing the position

Relevant experience within hospital and acute mental health settings and/or management experience within clinical settings would be highly desired.
