Physiotherapist (Women's Health stream) - Grade 2

2 Fixed term part time positions available:

  • ASAP until 02/01/22, 24 hours / week

  • ASAP until 30/07/22, 24 hours / week

The Physiotherapy Department provides services to patients of the Royal Women’s Hospital and encompasses the clinical streams of Women’s health and Neonatal care. Physiotherapy care involves a holistic approach to the prevention, diagnosis, and therapeutic management of disorders of movement or optimisation of function to enhance the health and welfare of women and newborns in the Victorian community.

Your contribution 

This position is a clinical role that ensures excellence in patient care, education and collaboration with staff and students, and fosters development through engagement with supervision and other professional development opportunities. The Grade 2 Physiotherapist also has a role working with stakeholders to contribute to the development of innovative models of care which optimise the role of Physiotherapy within the multidisciplinary team.

About you

To be successful within this role you will need to have:

Essential Criteria

  • A degree in Physiotherapy as recognised by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

  • A current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

  • Degree in Physiotherapy as recognised by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

  • Demonstrable experience in clinical management of patients with pelvic floor dysfunction and pregnancy related musculo-skeletal disorders.

  • Experience in supervising junior staff and teaching undergraduate physiotherapy students.

  • Capacity to work effectively in a changing organisational environment.

  • Experience establishing and maintaining partnerships across different health organisations and in the community sector.

  • Demonstrated commitment to a women-centred approach to service provision.

  • Competent computer literacy including use of a PC, mouse, keyboard, standard Microsoft office software

  • Experience in clinical management of patients with pelvic floor dysfunction and pregnancy-related musculoskeletal disorders.

Desirable Criteria

  • Member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, and the Victorian branch of Continence and Women’s Health Physiotherapy Australia.

  • Experience working with physiotherapy students at undergraduate level.

  • Previous experience in leading exercise and education classes.

  • Experience and involvement in research and audit activities.

  • Postgraduate qualification in Physiotherapy, specifically a Specialist Certificate in Physiotherapy Women's Health or equivalent.
