Full Job Description
The Workforce Partnerships and Professional Development Team has multiple Temporary Full Time roles available, both in Mackay and Proserpine, for Peer Workers to join their team.

The Workforce Partnerships and Professional Development Team comprises of a diverse staffing group who provide division wide services and programs, to internal and external stakeholders. Programs impact on state and health service deliverables and the portfolio is responsible for ensuring the divisions clinical services comply to relevant legislation through key positions.

Your role:
Work under direction to facilitate access to supports for clients of the mental health service and their support person/s (families, friends & carers).
Provide efficient, effective, ethical and confidential person centred, nonclinical peer support within the Mackay Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Division, across both community and inpatient settings.
Utilise a lived experience of mental illness and/or substance use to assist clients and support persons to work towards achieving their best outcomes and to support those providing clinical care to develop a better understanding of recovery oriented care and the additional benefits that peer support can provide.
