Where you'll be working

The Royal Hospital for Women is a tertiary referral hospital, supporting women and babies from across NSW. We are based on the Prince of Wales campus in Randwick and easily accessible to the city by public transport.

Provide high quality clinical social work care to patients and families of the Royal Hospital for Women Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit and Newborn Care Centre, consistent with NSW Health, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards;assess and reflect on service delivery using a high level of clinical expertise and specialized knowledge appropriate to the clinical setting.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  2. Extensive post graduate experience in clinical social work practice
  3. Work experience in the perinatal period and familiarity with the critical issues, practice framework and theoretical background required when working with loss, trauma, crisis and disability
  4. Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills and ability to interact collaboratively throughout all organisational levels.
  5. Ability to provide consultation to staff, provide clinical supervision, and play a lead role in quality improvement activities and service evaluation
  6. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.
