Assist the Site Manager with all aspects of Patient Support Services to the TPCH ensuring that an effective and efficient patient handling / porterage service is maintained and environmental cleaning standards are achieved.

About The Role

  • Co-ordinate and manage staff in line with quality human resource management practices with particular reference to employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour.
  • Management and review of the annual Performance Appraisal and Development Process for all staff under supervision to promote their personal development and address any performance deficiencies, taking care to mentor identified staff, and to encourage to personal development.
  • Operate economically and efficiently within budget allocation by overseeing Patient Support Officers rosters including annual and long service leave planning.
  • Assist in the management of the cleaning and patient assistance activities performed by Patient Support Services staff, ensuring efficient services are provided using best practices and other Quality Improvement Principles, including Budget Integrity.
  • Monitor and review the functions within their control and participate in Quality Management activities, including Benchmarking to promote the enhancement of services provided. Liaise with other health care providers and clients to ensure the delivery of an efficient and quality service.
  • Communicate with all departments on matters relating to service delivery and continually review resources within the Patient Support Service, deploying staff to ensure optimal utilisation of staff resources.
