This is an opportunity for experienced Mental Health Nurses with proven ability to provide high quality nursing leadership and clinical expertise, to apply for the position of Associate Nurse Unit Manager.

The Melbourne Clinic offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient programs that are tailored to meet the needs of people with a range of mental health conditions.

Programs include The Living Well Program- general inpatients, the Professorial Mood Disorders Unit (associated with The University of Melbourne), Older Persons’ Psychiatry, Eating Disorders Unit, Drug and Alcohol Detoxification and Rehabilitation and the Intensive Psychiatric Care Unit. A Community Outreach Program and a wide range of Day Programs are also available to support people in the community.

This position is directly responsible for providing leadership, strategic and operational direction.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop managerial and leadership skills of the highest standard, participate in the recruitment, budget and operational requirements of the unit and as part of The Leadership Group, participate in quality improvement projects and initiatives that ensure Healthscope policies, procedures and key performance indicators are maintained.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • Ensuring provision of nursing care is evidence based and consistent with optimal client outcomes
  • Ensuring appropriate allocations of human resources occurs across all arms of the unit/program
  • Ensuring measures to maintain staff, visitors and patient safety are implemented and maintained
  • Participation in the development and implementation of policies, quality improvement active in relevant executive forums that are in keeping with Healthscope strategic direction and standards

Selection Criteria
  • Registered Division 1 Nurse with at least 3years’ experience in the area of Mental Health Nursing care, specialising in the area of OCD.
  • Current AHPRA registration

Salary as per Healthscope Victoria Nurses & Midwives Enterprise Agreement 2016 -2020 ($97k - $101K per annum).
