About Mental Health at St Vincent's

St. Vincent’s Mental Health (SVMH) includes an adult area mental health service for the inner city areas of Yarra and Boroondara. Multidisciplinary teams provide a range of clinical and therapeutic interventions using the recovery-focused Strengths Model of Recovery-Orientated Practice.

About the Role

Under the guidance of the Manager, CATS and the Clinical Director, CATS and in conjunction with team members, you will provide a high standard of clinical assessment, treatment and support to clients (and their families) who are experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Duties could be performed across all parts of CATS which includes Crisis/Triage/EDMH and MHaP(PACER) Teams. CATS is a 24/7, seven days a week service across multiple sites, settings and functions.

Classification Range

OT/SW Grade 2 YB20 - YB23 or YC42 - YC45 ($81,328 - $93,490 per annum)
Psychologist Grade 2 PK1 - PK4 ($87,287 - $98,285 per annum)
RPN Grade 3 NP81 - NP74 ($91,000 - $101,056 per annum)

Duties

Provide comprehensive face to face and telephone assessments including mental state assessment and risk assessment
Plan appropriate crisis interventions in the least restrictive environment
Triage/screen referrals and determine eligibility for adult mental health program service, including prioritising responses
Conduct complex assessments in the community whilst being partnered with a police officer as part of MHaP (PACER) response initiative
Ensure the provision of ongoing expert advice, education and liaison to the Police, General Practitioners, staff within the Emergency Department
Provide knowledge and skills as part of a multidisciplinary team and consult with other staff on specialist matters.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Certificate, Diploma or Degree (minimum) in Nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, Division 1 or 3.
Masters Degree or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology recognised by the Australian Psychological Society
Bachelor of Social Work. Eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. Eligible for membership of Australian Association of Occupational Therapy
Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
A current Victorian driver’s licence.
