Your Opportunity

Opportunities exists for a Research Assistant to join the Family Safety Team at Royal Melbourne Hospital. The role is part-time, 12 hours per fortnight. This presents an excellent opportunity to develop health research skills within the areas of Family Violence clinical response and combined family violence and psychology projects.

The successful applicant will have sound communication skills and demonstrable experience with literature searching and data management. The Family Safety Team has a well-established research program, including post-graduate students and supports ongoing professional development for all staff.

Additional Information:

  • The role sits within the Family Safety Team

  • It will involve research data management and coding, literature searches, study development and the preparation of manuscripts for publication, as appropriate.

  • Professional development in the area of family violence response skills will be available

  • It is preferred that applicant AHPRA registration (may be provisional).

Graduate applicants must submit a brief cover letter with 5-10 dot points to indicate why and how you are prepared for a grade 1 position at Melbourne Health in order to be considered for this role. These can be related to professional, extra-curricular, educational or other relevant experience and must be specific.

About You

  • Recognised degree or equivalent in Psychology (candidates from other disciplines, such as social work will be considered also)

  • Effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication

  • Time management and prioritisation skills

  • Data management and research skills
