Full Job Description
The Ayr and Home Hill Health Services are seeking to recruit a client focused and outcome driven Operational Services Officer.

The Operational Services Officer provides professional cleaning, porter age and patient handling services within the Ayr and Home Hill Health Facilities.

This includes servicing clinical and non clinical areas to contribute to the quality of care provided to patients of The Ayr and Home Hill Health Facilities.

Operational Services Officer Rosters are staffed 365 days a year.

About Ayr and Home Hill Health Services
Ayr and Home Hill Health Services serve a population of 17,000 people and have two facilities; these are the Ayr and Home Hill Hospitals. Managerial and corporate services are located at Ayr Hospital. The Ayr and Home Hill Health Services provide a multitude of services including: Acute Care, Long Stay Care, Accident and Emergency, Surgery, Outpatients and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Primary Health Care Services include Hospital and School Dental, Aboriginal and Islander Health, Community Nursing, Community Mental Health, Child Health, Health Promotion, School Based Nursing, Physiotherapy, Medical Imaging, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work and Pharmacy. A number of visiting services are also provided. These include Paediatrics and Gastroenterology.

Role requirements

Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD): Health Care Workers in Queensland Health whose occupation poses a potential risk of exposure to blood or body fluids are required to provide evidence of vaccinations or proof that they are not susceptible (due to prior exposure to the disease and therefore have natural immunity) to the following VPD's Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis containing vaccine) according to the Queensland Health Policy.
Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a manual and automatic vehicle, and a C licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.

Salary range of $32.83 to $35.60 p.a. (casual rate) (OO2), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75 % employer contribution to superannuation. The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

Demonstrate skill or ability to acquire skill in all aspects of hospital cleaning catering, laundry and porter age, to the Queensland Health standards and associated guidelines.
Possess both written and oral communication skills and an ability to interact with all levels of staff, to establish and maintain productive relationships.
Possess basic computer skills to maintain organisational compliance and quality through the competency to meet mandatory and role required training obligations.
Commitment to Quality Improvement practices through participation in the development, implementation, review and maintenance of internal systems processes and work practices.
Demonstrated ability to operate with a degree of independence and to work toward achieving pre-set goals.
Basic understanding of or the ability to acquire knowledge of workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination practices and behaviours as applied in the working environment.
