Waratah Private Hospital is a 123-bed facility which caters for specialties including orthopaedics, plastics, general surgery, urology, gynaecological surgery, pain management, general medical and inpatient/day rehabilitation services.

In July 2021, Waratah Private Hospital will be introducing “Re-centre”, a leading private mental health clinic delivering proven pathways to healthier minds in the heart of Hurstville, Western Sydney. Re-centre will offer a 31-bed mental health accommodation on Level 5, and a dedicated facility on Level 2 that runs a number of day programs aimed at supporting mind health without the need to stay overnight. At Re-centre, patients will benefit from an unrivalled and holistic offering drawing on the greater world-class facility. This includes supportive specialties, allied health, access to the gymnasium and hydrotherapy pool, right down to nutritious menus, ease of transport and on-site secure parking.

We are seeking experienced Clinical Psychologists to deliver day and inpatient group programs upon opening of Re-centre.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Degree in Clinical Psychology including full registration with AHPRA and the Australian Psychological Society.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-graduate experience as a mental health psychologist in a primary health or specialist mental health setting.
  • Experienced with specialist psychological assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health problems of varying severity and complexity.
  • Proficient with psychological therapies, risk assessment, training, and supervision.
  • Proficient with planning and performing psychological interventions.
  • Familiarity working with practice-based evidence and outcome evaluation.
  • Willingness to participate in innovative approaches to clinical practice
  • Ability to be adaptable and responsive to change in delivering psychological services.
  • Experience in developing psychotherapy programs.
  • Experience in undertaking comprehensive mental health assessment and delivering a range of evidence-based 'Focused Psychological Strategies'

Desirable criteria:

  • Relevant post graduate qualifications
  • Recent clinical experience in a private health care setting.
