We are currently seeking applications for a Registered Music Therapist, to join our team. We have a Permanent Full Time or Permanent Part Time opportunity available.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team the Registered Music Therapist (RMT) provides quality, appropriate and relevant music therapy services to meet the needs of Brightwater Care Group’s clients in line with the objectives of Brightwater’s Music and Wellbeing Program. The RMT’s role is make program referrals, assess the client, determine individual capabilities, set realistic goals, facilitating the achievement of these goals while optimising the client's function performance and psychosocial health relating to activities of daily living, communication, wellbeing, leisure pursuits and vocation/education, within a residential aged care setting or in the community.

We are looking for an amazing team player, who has a passion for supporting staff to optimise use of music for clients living with dementia. You will have the ability to deliver an outcomes based service to improve quality of life and clinical outcomes in residential and community aged care. In this role you will responsibly utilise resources within the unique Brightwater Music Pharmacyand you will have a talent to use music therapy to reach our hardest to reach clients.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Registration as a Music Therapist with the Australian Music Therapy Association
  • Registration, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (registration preferred)
  • Strong commitment to providing, and the capability to deliver, safe high quality therapy interventions and care
  • Demonstrated experience and competency as a RMT to identify referrals, assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in various environments with a diverse range of people
  • Strong person-centred skills in communicating and engaging with clients with high support needs including cognitive impairment, brain injury and dementia, and their families
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise tasks, work effectively under pressure, problem solve and meet deadlines.
  • First Aid Certificate less than 3 years old (desirable; essential if providing services for Brightwater At Home clients)
  • Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
  • Satisfactory National Police Certificate obtained within the last 12 months
  • A satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening Check
