  • There are no COVID-19 patients at East Melbourne ICU

The Role
Options exist to work full-time, part-time or casually as a Critical Care Registered Nurse within our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Epworth Richmond or East Melbourne. (Let us know your preferred hours and preferred location in your cover letter.)

Richmond- In our 26-bed unit you will look after complex patient cases including cardiothoracic, neurological, orthopaedic, general surgical, complex surgical and emergency medical cases. You will be supported by a dedicated educator.

East Melbourne/Freemasons- Our combined ICU, HDU and telemetry unit cares for a range of patients experiencing critical illnesses and provides support to the wider hospital. Supported by 24-hour on-site medical staff, a dedicated educator and ICU liaison service, you will be part of a team committed to providing exceptional patient outcomes and experiences through an approach to nursing that focuses on contemporary practice and continued improvement.

To be successful in this role

You will be able to evaluate and monitor each patient’s progress and respond quickly to changes to ensure safe and positive patient health outcomes. You are passionate about delivering an exceptional patient experience by delivering high-quality nursing care. Professional, empathetic and compassionate in your personal conduct, you have the ability to inspire others and be a positive role model. You are motivated to continually learn, improve and promote best practice.

You will have

  • Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA
  • Post graduate certificate or diploma qualifications in Critical Care or Emergency nursing
  • Relevant acute experience
  • Ability to participate in AM, PM, Night shifts and on-call roster
