Full Job Description
Position Profile: We are currently seeking to appoint a Consultant - Emergency Medicine. In this role you will provide comprehensive clinical service in Emergency Medicine to patients of WA Country Health Service - South West and promote quality health outcomes for emergency medicine. You will also demonstrate leadership and role modelling.

The Bunbury Hospital is increasing its long term FACEM establishment, as part of service reform. We have several positions available.

Suitable candidates must be eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA). Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine or equivalent. Demonstrated extensive experience in Emergency Medicine, quality improvement and a commitment to clinical teaching. High level of communication and interpersonal skills with strong leadership skills in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Remuneration: MP Year 1-9 $354,487 - $451,677 p.a. (inclusive of base salary, 9.5% superannuation and applicable allowances). Rates as at October 2018. As per the WA Health System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement 2016.

This is for a Fixed Term Full Time for 5 years.

About the Facility: The Bunbury Hospital will be undergoing significant capital works, including an expected helipad, in the next few years to meet the increasing demand for high quality clinical services within the SW of WA. We are expanding clinical services to meet increasing regional demand. We are seeking dynamic FACEMs to join our cohesive ED team and who will be significantly based in the SW WA region.

The Bunbury Hospital ED receives and treats patients encompassing the full range of Emergency presentations. There are opportunities for career development with process design, teaching and improvements in patient transport. We enjoy a close relationship with the Rural Clinical School of WA. Several of our current FACEMs have appointments at the RCS. Applicants who expect to achieve FACEM within a limited time frame may be considered.

Bunbury and the SW of WA are blessed with abundant opportunities for outdoor activities, minimal traffic but still many services.
