The Opportunity

Under the leadership of the General Manager - Laboratory Operations, this commercially focused role as Regional Laboratory Operations Manager will provide leadership to continue to develop and strengthen our delivery of pathology services across the Southern Region of Australia. The region comprises IDEXX Laboratories’ operations in Adelaide and Melbourne and the position will be based in our Melbourne laboratory.
In Australia we have a network of four NATA accredited veterinary laboratories providing comprehensive diagnostic pathology services to the veterinary profession. The Regional Laboratory Operations Manager will lead teams of Senior Laboratory Supervisors, veterinary pathologists, scientists, logistics and technicians to ensure the provision of quality, timely and cost-effective diagnostic services are delivered to IDEXX customers. The role encompasses people management and laboratory operational & financial management.

The successful candidate:
At least 5 years’ experience leading and motivating a team and delivering high-quality and client-focused laboratory services.

A general management or business management qualification is highly desirable.

You will also have a degree in Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Science (or an agreed equivalent)

A minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Medical Scientist or Veterinary Laboratory Scientist working in a medical laboratory or similar, preferably in a multi-disciplinary diagnostic pathology service.

Regional and interstate travel will be required.
