ACM Healthcare is working on behalf of OPEN ARMS to source a qualified senior-level MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL leadership position.

Open Arms is appointing an Assistant Director to oversee the assurance of quality and advancement of practice in Client Assist.

The Client Assist Practice and Quality Assistant Director will work closely with the National Director Client Assist (Clinical), the Client Assist (Operational) team, and other key National Operations’ teams to design, deliver, implement and evaluate projects for Client Assist, that support and develop the practice of the Client Assist team.

The successful applicant will be expected to lead and deliver several critical projects that embed continuous quality improvement processes in Client Assist and assure the quality of Client Assist’s services, in a 24/7 contact center environment. The successful applicant will therefore also work closely with the other Client Assist (Clinical) Assistant Directors to ensure the expansion projects are all aligned and promote best practice in mental health service delivery. This position will be responsible for the supervision, mentoring, and coaching of staff.

The Successful Applicant Must Have
  • A comprehensive understanding and extensive experience in working within a mental health clinical practice framework,
  • Extensive knowledge and clinical support functions and processes that support the clinical service delivery, including a working knowledge with clinical audit and quality improvement processes in a mental health environment.
  • Working knowledge of the National Standards for Mental Health Services.
DUTIES
  • Develop compliance monitoring mechanisms, and ensure the Client Assist leadership is able to use these mechanisms to monitor practice quality.
  • Implement service improvement projects and initiatives to enhance client service delivery and streamline associated clinical support functions, ensuring and evidencing integration with existing quality improvement methods and processes.
  • Lead a small team, including setting expectations, supporting development, managing performance, and contributing to the management of the section and the branch.
  • Build and maintain effective internal and external relationships within the organization, Department, and with stakeholders, Government departments, and others. This includes cross-sectional collaboration and initiatives and working with both the Client Assist and regional center leadership, to ensure Client Assist provides a seamless service experience for clients.
  • Oversee the development of, review, advice, input, briefings, papers, submissions, and correspondence for use in both internal and external decision-making forums. This includes drafting business documentation, working with project teams to prepare and research background information.

Mandatory Qualifications And Working With Children/Vulnerable People
  • Qualifications, in mental health nursing, psychology, or social sciences, and demonstrated experience (5+years) in a clinical management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in service redesign, change management, or project management in a clinical setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and experience, including highly effective communication and the ability to develop relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to the target audience(s), using approaches that capture audience interest, and which are in accordance with the Commonwealth writing style guidelines.
Highly Desirable
  • Qualifications in Business Administration or Project Management would be well regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience in instituting quality improvement methods, activities, and/or processes, such as clinical audits.
