Your new company
We are currently supporting a Federal Government program based in Perth CBD. This program is an entry point to Open Arms' services and provides access to mental health services, support and information to the veteran community.

Your new role
The Client Assist Practice and Quality Assistant Director will work alongside the national leadership and operational team to design, deliver and implement projects for Client Assist that supports the development of the team and service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the Client Assist clinical operations and practice following a quality improvement framework
  • Implement service improvement projects and initiatives that streamline clinical support functions
  • Contribute to the development of Open Arms clinical practice and accreditation
  • Lead projects such as crisis accommodation services, telehealth and intake processes
  • Build and maintain effective internal and external relationships
  • Manage planning for longer term initiatives
  • Ensure you are using and analysing current literature and best practice in mental health and military health
  • Support an environment that encourages a participative work place in line with Australian Public Service values and APS code of conduct

What you'll need to succeed
As the Assistant Director you will be a mental health professional with significant management experience in a clinical setting. Your understanding of clinical practice framework and service delivery will allow you to succeed in this role. Key requirements include:

  • Qualifications in mental health nursing, psychology or social sciences
  • Demonstrated experience in a clinical management role
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and experience
  • Effective communication skills and ability to build rapport
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in quality improvement frameworks and activities
  • Interest in providing quality mental health services to the veteran and defence communities
  • Passion to motivate others toward best practice in clinical service delivery
  • Australian Citizenship
  • National Police Clearance
  • WWCC

What you'll get in return
In return for your commitment to this full-time role you will receive an excellent casual hourly rate between $70 - $80 + Super. You will be working for a federal government department based in Perth CBD at an executive level.
