About the facility


Barwon health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West region. It is one of Victoria’s largest regional health service with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 8,000 staff and more than 1200 volunteers. We provide care at all stages or life and circumstance through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care, and subacute/rehabilitation. Care is provided to the community through over 28 key locations throughout the region.


The Mental Health Therapy Services develops and provides evidenced-based psychological treatment for consumers of the Barwon Health's Community Mental Health Teams with a focus on delivering services for those experiencing personality disorders and/or a history of trauma. The service contributes to increasing capacity across MHDAS to utilise and deliver specialist assessment and therapies.


About the role


This role involves providing direct clinical work both individually and in groups as well as contributing to program development and evaluation. As the successful applicant you will provide;



  • And develop specialist psychological assessments and therapies for MHDAS consumers in line with MHDAS service directions

  • Clinical leadership including development and evaluation of therapy programs within the Therapy Service and across MHDAS

  • Specialist training to provisional psychologists and Grade 2 psychologists and developing therapists within the therapy team.
