The Tasmanian Health Service is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Clinical Lead - Community Forensic Mental Health Services (512547) vacancy.

Please note this position is also being advertised as a Clinical Nurse Consultant - Clinical Lead - Community Forensic Mental Health Services (512547m) and only one position will be filled on merit


$109,108 to $116,218 per annum

Plus 6.5% Correctional Health Service Allowance


Allied Health Professional Level 4

Period of Employment

Permanent, full time, day work, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible

Responsible for the day to day operational direction and co-ordination of the Community Forensic Mental Health Service (CFMHS) multi-disciplinary teams.

Oversee the effective information exchange between CFMHS team members and other staff members within the Correctional Health Services Prison Hospital, and Secure Mental Health Unit in relation to client assessment and ongoing management.

Effective management of specified human and physical resources as directed by the Manager - Community Forensic Mental Health Services.
Participate in the review of service delivery planning for CFMHS and provide input into determining service priorities.

Undertake and maintain a case management load for CFMHS clients

Essential Requirements
Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or

Degree in Social Work giving eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or

Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
a) Crimes of Violence
b) Sex Related Offences
c) Serious Drug Offences
d) Crimes involving dishonesty

2. Identification check

3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check

Current Driver’s Licence
