About The Role

The Mater Mothers’ Hospital Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) team currently has an opportunity available for a Clinical Midwife in a Caseload Model of Care. This position will be offered in a fixed-term full-time capacity for 6 months.

Midwifery Group Practice at Mater is made up of 8 teams of midwives and within this larger group you will be part of a smaller team of 4 midwives providing dedicated continuity of care to a caseload of women.

The Clinical Midwife role provides advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management of antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care for women with complex care needs, ensuring quality standards are met. This role works autonomously within the healthcare team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering of continuity of midwifery care.

What You'll Be Doing

This role requires an enthusiastic and dedicated midwife to provide exceptional midwifery care in coordinating, assessing, planning and providing care. It is a fantastic chance to become part of a highly skilled and professional multi-disciplinary team, utilising your enthusiasm and midwifery passion for the delivery of best practice within a supportive and professional environment.

This opportunity will utilise your expertise in caring for women and families and your ability to work in partnership with the multidisciplinary team. You will enjoy demonstrating your excellent communication skills and building relationships to ensure exceptional patient care.

About You

To be considered for this role, the successful applicant must have:

  • Current registration with AHPRA, including Midwifery endorsement
  • Recent experience working in antenatal care, birth suites and post-natal setting
  • Evidence of advanced clinical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated and effective leadership capability and experience
  • Experience working in a continuity of care model
  • Significant postgraduate experience in a Midwifery environment
  • Evidence of continuing educational and professional development
  • Demonstrated ability to role model the Mater values
You will also have excellent communication skills, be hard working, self-directed, enthusiastic, and approachable and display both initiative and a high level of motivation.
