Outreach Social Worker - The Women's Alcohol and Drug Service
Fixed Term Position
Twelve Month position - 34.2 Hours per week

The Women’s Alcohol and Drug Service (WADS) is the only state-wide drug and alcohol service providing specialist clinical services and professional support in the care of pregnant women with complex substance use and alcohol dependence. 


We provide comprehensive support from a multidisciplinary team to advance their health and well-being and the medical needs of their infants.

Your contribution 



  • To provide assessment, casework management, counselling and referral to pregnant women with complex

  • substance use dependence.

  • Develop treatment plans and proactively link women and their infants to drug treatment services.

  • Focus on outreach work to ensure women and their infants are provided with practical and therapeutic support


About you


To be successful within this role you will need to have:



  • Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work or equivalent

  • Demonstrated high quality counselling and advocacy skills
