Obstetrics and Gynaecology Senior Registrar


We are seeking an enthusiastic obstetrics and gynaecology senior registrar to join our team from June 2021 to February 2022. This role would be suitable for RANZCOG-accredited registrars and Specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMGs), or adequately experienced non-accredited registrars.


Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s is a tertiary obstetrics and gynaecology service in metropolitan Melbourne, with more than 6000 deliveries per year, and on-site subspecialist units including gynae-oncology, urogynaecology, minimally invasive surgery and maternal-fetal medicine.


This role includes the provision of excellent clinical care in obstetrics and gynaecology, with duties in labour ward, outpatient clinics, inpatient care, emergency, and theatres. All senior registrars participate in the on-call roster, and are involved in supervision and education of junior registrars and residents. Senior registrars are supervised and supported by consultant obstetrician gynaecologists.



Essential Criteria



  • Current medical registration with no current AHPRA conditions on practice

  • Completion of four years of RANZCOG ITP training or equivalent experience

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work as an effective member of the multidisciplinary team

  • Commitment to professional development
