Casey Hospital, Dandenong Hospital and Monash Medical Centre, Clayton Emergency Departments have exciting opportunities for Registered Nurses seeking to advance their career within the Emergency Nursing Profession in the August 2021 Transition to Specialty Practice (TSP) Program.

About our Emergency Services at Monash Health

Monash Health is the largest public health service in Victoria, employing over 18,000 people across a range of specialities.

Monash Health Emergency Departments (ED) treat over 200,000 emergency patients a year at Casey Hospital, Dandenong Hospital and Monash Medical Centre (MMC), Clayton. Patients have access to a full range of treatment options, including intensive care.

  • Casey Hospital – Acute Emergency Department treating both Adult & Paediatric patients. Casey Hospital currently undergoing extensive redevelopment due for completion late 2019. A new Intensive Care unit, additional theatres & inpatient beds are all part of this exciting new build, which will enable us to provide care for a fast growing Emergency Department. Onsite access to Medical, Surgical, Paediatric, Mental Health & Maternity

  • Dandenong Hospital – Acute Emergency department treating both Adult & Paediatric patients. Onsite access to ICU, Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Mental Health, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Paediatrics & Women’s Health ranging from start of life to end of life care

  • Monash Medical Centre – Tertiary level department with separate Adult & Paediatric areas. Onsite access to Tertiary Level Higher Care for Paediatrics as well as Cardiac and Neuro-surgery and a diverse range of specialist support services. MMC’s Emergency Department is undergoing redevelopment including Adult expansion, dedicated Children’s Emergency, additional Short Say Beds, cutting edge Technology & Improved Ambulance Access

About Emergency Services TSP Program

Monash Health has a very exciting opportunity for registered nurses looking to advance their career and transition into Emergency Nursing. We offer an excellent TSP Program which provides supported entry to emergency nursing. The program consists of structured learning, clinical support and six paid study days across a 12 Month period. It aims to develop you into a safe and effective practitioner within the emergency department who will be able to provide timely, exceptional patient centred care.

TSP Positions available at Casey Hospital, Dandenong Hospital and Monash Medical Centre, Clayton. You will be employed and orientated to a designated hospital however the study days are shared and facilitated by experienced educators (Nursing and Midwifery Education and Strategy, NaMES) and other Monash Health experts.

The program is recognised by Monash University and can be articulated to receive recognition of prior learning towards a Master of Nursing.

Full or Part Time Ongoing positions available with flexibility to work across as 24/7 rotating roster.

What You Need

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)

  • Application must include curriculum vitae, an application (cover) letter clearly highlighting your site preference (Casey, DH or MMC) and reasoning of preference

  • Two professional referees (including a direct line manager)

  • A current Employee Working with Children Check or application

What Next?

If your application is shortlisted, you will be contacted by email and invited to participate in an interview on a nominated day. Interviews will be held on Thursday 24th or Friday 25th June 2021. Please ensure to make yourself available across these days if invited to interview as interviews will only be held once. Due to COVID-19 interviews may not be able to be held in person so will be held on-camera via WebEx.
