Client Details

Kids Connect Therapy is a private integrated paediatric Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy clinic in Mulgrave that offers a wide range of individual assessment, group-based assessment, and therapy services for children. Their mission is to provide dynamic and high-quality services to enable children and their families reach their fullest potential and participate and thrive in life. They pride themselves on providing flexible services that meet the needs of each individual family by basing their therapy approach on the internationally renowned DIR®/Floortime™ model of intervention. Description

A day in the life of a Paediatric Speech Pathologist at Kids Connect Therapy may look like this, but really every day will be slightly different.

  • You will be involved in the assessment and treatment of children with communication problems and help develop solutions that represent best practice in the community.
  • Support clients and provide appropriate recommendations that provide the building blocks for communication and language, including engagement, relating to others, and receptive language development.
  • Participate and work with children on a 1:1 basis and within small groups with other team members.
  • Be involved in an ongoing commitment to professional development and enhance professional abilities by participating in Speech Pathology Australia's Professional Self-Regulation (PSR) program.
  • Use practice frameworks that ensure the involvement at each decision-making point for clients, families and significant others as applicable.

Profile

  • A relevant Tertiary Bachelor/Masters Qualification and eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience to work effectively in a team and ability to be a positive role model who is professional, supportive, and inclusive.
  • Valid Working with Children Check and current Driver's License.
  • Committed to providing high-quality services to all people from diverse language and cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
