JOB DESCRIPTION

The Role:
We are seeking a Consultant Intensivist with Head of Department duties for a dedicated Intensive Care Unit in a beautiful coastal regional setting. You will also be responsible for the provision of clinical leadership of the Intensive Care Unit department. (FTE - 0.7 Clinical Duties and 0.3 Head of Department Duties).

In this role you will provide Intensive Care Unit services, including participation in Intensive Care Unit on call roster. You will oversee the compliance with ongoing implementation of BSAFE Program in the Hospital, focusing on timely assessment and treatment of critically sick/deteriorated patients admitted.

· Suitable candidates must be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
· Have Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand.
· Demonstrated extensive experience in Intensive Care Unit in a hospital setting with experience in quality improvement.
· Possess leadership skills in a multidisciplinary team environment with a commitment to clinical teaching.
· You must have a high level of communication and interpersonal skills.

The Hospital has undergone an upgrade which includes the first ICU outside of the Metropolitan area, a comprehensive cancer care centre and an extended Emergency Department.

The Hospital:
This is a 143-bed hospital that functions as the regional resource centre for the region with all major specialties present on site including ICU and CCU/cath lab.

The Hospital has undertaken a major redevelopment of Critical Care facilities and services.

The Location:
This is a beautiful seaside City located only a couple of hour's drive from Perth, the city enjoys unequaled services including medical services, quality schooling, well priced housing, and access to many of the best wineries, surf, and scenic destinations in the state.

Skills & Qualifications Required:
ESSENTIAL
1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.

4. Demonstrable high level of communication and interpersonal skills.

7. Demonstrated experience in quality improvement.
