About the role

The paediatrician provides a comprehensive, coordinated and family focussed paediatric service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, along with providing secondary consultation and education to other cohealth service providers, including allied health staff and GPs.

Your daily duties will vary but your main focus will include:
Provide appointment-based assessment and intervention for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children
Work with a range of health professionals, clients, carers and other agencies to deliver a coordinated and effective paediatric service
Engage and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to manage their health care needs
Act as a consultant to cohealth health professionals including general practitioners, nursing and allied health staff

About you:
Unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Fellowship with Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP)
A minimum of 12 months experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, ideally in a community health or outreach setting
Current or recent experience working in community paediatrics in the Western Region of metropolitan Melbourne, or Melton
