What you'll be doing

The Integrated Violence Prevention & Response Service (IVPRS) is responsible for strategic leadership, clinical service provision and capacity building for the portfolio areas of sexual assault, domestic violence and child protection.

As part of the IVPRS management team, the CPCS Clinical Senior is responsible for the line management of counselling staff, coordination of clinical service delivery and clinical/administrative management of a child protection counselling service.

Essential Criteria:

Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling
Registration: Eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualification (minimum bachelor degree) in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling and eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership.
  2. Extensive clinical experience working in child protection service delivery settings, with significant experience in trauma informed care.
  3. Demonstrated skills and experience in the provision of case management supervision and/or extensive experience in providing clinical advice and support to clinicians working in child protection, domestic violence or sexual assault.
  4. Demonstrated high-level understanding of the inter-related dynamics and effects of sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect and domestic violence and a commitment to integrated models for working with clients who have experienced trauma and abuse.
  5. High level knowledge and understanding of current policies and legislation relating to child protection and other forms of inter-personal violence and knowledge of legal systems involved in child protection service provision.
  6. High-level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including interagency negotiation skills and demonstrated capacity to work in partnership with key stakeholders.
  7. Current Driver’s License valid in Australia
