What to expect

The unit comprises of two rooms within our Gosford Perioperative suite and undertakes both emergency and elective services. The role will be working closely with the staff and Perioperative leadership team to build the service further and implement new models of care and the changes to the AS4187 policy.

What you'll be doing

The NUM is responsible for the coordination of Endoscopy services and nursing management at Gosford hospital consistent within the strategic directions of Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD). This is achieved through consultation and collaboration with the Nurse Manager, Perioperative.

The NUM takes overall responsibility for the health care environment and standard of care within the Endoscopy unit. As the nurse in charge the NUM will perform clinical leadership and management with accountability for culture, quality and safety, patient flow, financial management, change management and the experience of patients in the endoscopy unit.
The NUM is pivotal to the co-ordination of patient care, endoscopy management and leadership of the profession of nursing to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.
