Curtin Medical School


Established in 2017, the Curtin Medical School (CMS), which is part of the Faculty of Health Sciences, brings together multidisciplinary teaching and research expertise, and offers the only undergraduate medical degree in Western Australia. Curtin Medical School is committed to producing graduates who are better equipped to meet community needs, with primary care expertise, strong leadership skills and the ability to operate effectively in interprofessional care teams.


In this role you will……


In support of the deliberate commitments expressed through our University’s Strategic Plan, Reconciliation Action Plan and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment and Engagement Strategy, priority will be given to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants as a special measure to achieve equality as per Section 51 of the Equal Opportunity Act (WA) 1984

  • Support Indigenous students enrolled in the MBBS program.
  • Contribute to the Indigenous General Practice curriculum.
  • Deliver high quality and innovative teaching to undergraduate, honours and postgraduate students across a range of modes and levels.
  • Display a commitment to the discipline/field through the scholarly development and delivery of high quality educational courses.
  • Supervise the program of study of honours students or postgraduate students engaged in coursework
  • Produce highly productive research outputs with regular publication in high quality journals, or outputs in other creative outlets consistent with an international reputation in the field.

We are looking for someone with…


  • AHPRA registration
  • A college fellowship FRACGP
  • Strong interest and experience in Indigenous education and/or health and medical education
  • Demonstrated academic leadership experience in the discipline/profession and in community engagement.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching.
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills.
