Morisset Hospital provides extended care Mental Health Rehabilitation to consumers under the Mental Health Act and the Forensic Mental Health Act. The skilled, multidisciplinary team focuses on the provision of holistic care for both forensic and civilian consumers with a commitment to building on strengths and resilience to enable a smooth transition back into the community.

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will direct, co-ordinate and supervise the provision of nursing services within the Kestrel Unit to maximise the health outcomes for patients and their families and carers. You will also assist and support the Nurse Unit Manager Grade 2 in the day to day clinical and operational management of the Service. You will be supported in this position by the high performing, multidisciplinary team and will report directly to the Nurse Unit Manager Grade 2 for the unit. This position also plays an integral role in the greater Psychiatric Rehabilitation Service team on site.

The successful applicant will possess the ability to empathise with people, will have a good understanding of the theories of mental health nursing and will be compassionate, resilient and emotionally strong.

To be eligible for employment in these roles you must be: an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or a citizen of another country with an appropriate visa that allows you to work in Australia.

If you currently hold a temporary visa that allows you to live and work in Australia you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
