The Medical Education Officer (MEO) is a key member of the Medical Workforce (MW) Team at Peninsula Health.

The MEO works in close collaboration with other members of the team and leads external accreditation activities for our junior doctors with the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV).

What You Will Be Doing
The Medical Workforce Team collaborates to deliver the full range of medical recruitment and administrative support to PH medical practitioners, Clinical Directors and Executive Directors.

The MEO works with the MW team, HMO Mentors and the Director of Clinical Training to ensure PGY1 and 2 Junior Medical Staff (JMS) are provided with continuing education, support, professional and self-development opportunities.

You will also:
  • Lead education requirements of the PGY1 and 2 JMS in accordance with the Australian Curriculum Framework for Junior Doctors and co-ordinate delivery and evaluation of medical education programs including liaison with external sites where PGY1 and 2 are seconded.
  • Lead specific education, wellness support and training requirements identified for individual doctors, including International Medical Graduates (IMGs) appointed to PH.
  • Lead external accreditation activities provided by the PMCV and other agencies
  • Ensure JMS’s receive ongoing assessment and feedback against their learning objectives and outcomes, including mid and end of rotation performance assessments
What You Need

We anticipate you will have:
  • A Postgraduate qualification in education
  • Well developed written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work autonomously, within broad direction, to develop and implement programs including project management and evaluation
  • The ability to work as an effective member of a senior management team
