Receptionist / Secretary - Neurophysiology

The Royal Melbourne Hospital

As one of the largest health services in Victoria, and a team of more than 10,000 strong, we provide a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services; as well as rehabilitation, aged care, outpatient and community programs. We are a designated state-wide provider for services including trauma, and we lead centres of excellence for tertiary services in several key specialties including neurosciences, nephrology, oncology, cardiology and virtual health.

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Neurophysiology team. This is a Full Time position, working 80 hours per fortnight including ADO, based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to:

  • Confidently, book and confirm all patient appointments

  • Answer phones, taking and returning messages & sorting mail

  • organise patient tests daily.

  • Answer patient questions and queries regarding basic test procedures

  • Distribute of test reports and patient letters, including uploading of documents to hospital systems

  • Order stationary supplies and some medical supplies. Checking to ensure all stock is maintained

Your Contribution

  • Certificates / diplomas in administration and/or finance courses will be highly regarded.

  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal and communication skills.

  • A patient focussed approach to service provision.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment, in addition to working autonomously.

  • Maintain absolute confidentiality with patient and departmental matters.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and organise with good attention to detail.

  • Experience in administration / reception / clerical work, medical reception experience highly regarded.

  • Knowledge and experience using Windows based computers including Microsoft office programs (i.e word, outlook, excel).

  • Experience in a medical receptionist role
