Social Workers Grade 3, Psychosocial support in Emergency department

Monash Health Emergency Departments treat over 150,000 emergency patients a year at Monash Medical Centre Clayton campus, Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital. Patients have access to a full range of treatment options, including intensive care.

About The Role

We are excited to announce new Grade 3 Social Work positions within the Mental Health Program located at the Casey Emergency department.

The positions will provide an innovative service for people presenting to the Emergency Department requiring complex psychosocial
assessment and support to assist their transfer back to the community with appropriate supports in place. The role is to provide advanced clinical expertise to mental health consumers, their families and carers to maximise individual recovery. High quality assessment, targeted interventions and advocacy will be tailored to individual needs to support a safe discharge.

These are full-time and part-time fixed term roles, working across clinical shifts within the Emergency Department.

About You

You are recognised for your clinical expertise in Social Work and mental health care and are keen to develop your skills further by contributing to building a new service. You lead by example, thrive working in a dynamic, fast paced environment and are truly passionate about delivering a high standard of evidence based social work care to vulnerable people. You demonstrate exceptional communication and problem solving capabilities and are collaborative and skilled in working with multiple stakeholders to achieve excellent outcomes.

What You Need

An Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) accredited Bachelor Degree or entry level Master’s Degree of Social Work that provides eligibility for membership of the AASW.
Written evidence of eligibility for AASW membership for overseas qualifications is required.
Minimum seven years’ experience as a qualified Social Worker
AOD experience preferable
